Owen’s book is here! All 51 chapters from his perspective and brain. It’s both thrilling and horrifying to be stuck in his head with him. And though some of you asked for this after book one, you patiently waited, and we’re finally here.
Enchanted Shadows is live. Available for purchase in ebook, paperback, and hardcover, with audiobook plans still to come. Click here to get your copy ➡️ Enchanted Shadows.
In the early stages of writing this book last spring, I lost my dearest bulldog. He was 10.5 years old and ancient in bulldog terms. When I finally got back to writing a few weeks later, grief still very much a constant shadow, I wondered if my writing would change, if I could write under the weight of everything. If anyone would notice the writer was wrecked.
Owen guided the way.
And then in the final moments of getting this book done, we found out one of our boys needs his appendix out. It’s not an emergency type situation, just still not on our summer to-do lists. Someone carry me into next week?
I wrote a few lines in this book which say, “But that was the thing about life. It was jagged, the highs cutting to the lows, tucked in together, and with very little warning between. It was a barbed sort of beautiful.”
That just sums up the last year for me. I hope you chase a few sunsets with me this year and find the beautiful from around all the barbs.
And this is the portion of the blog where I gently remind you how much reviews mean to indie authors and getting books “seen.” Would you please consider writing a review or giving it a star rating when you are done? An honest one, please. I don’t mind earning those five-star reviews.
Okay, now I know what your first question will be at the end of this book. “What’s next?”
We have one more Enchanted Kingdom book. I would love to just keep writing in this series, but I always promised myself no more than seven books per series. And we happen to have something stuck in a tree that I just cannot leave there with no further explanation. So we have a time hop (more significant this time) and that to figure out.
I will write Enchanted Kingdom 7 this fall, and the series will be complete. I’m not ready to say goodbye to this world and this set of characters, but I fear it’s time…
I do have two of three books in my magical academy series written, the first currently getting spruced with my editor for whatever is next. And then because there was a story I could NOT let go of in December, my agent has a different secret project she’s working with right now. A second secret project. Which sounds as chaotic as it is. I've been sworn to secrecy on that one, and if you know me, you know how hard that is! I want to say more, but I cannot at this time.
In 2025 I hoped to bring you two Enchanted Kingdom audiobooks, and one actual book. We are on track for that. The Enchanted Heir audiobook is just wrapping up and should be out in a month or so!
And then in 2026, I hope to flip that and bring you two books and one Enchanted Kingdom audiobook.
So stay tuned! I know I earned a reputation as “Cliffhanger Queen” early on in my writing, (cough, The Fracturing). However, I will say one of the books from all I’ve just mentioned has one to rival Fracturing’s. Consider this your very early warning. Old habits die hard?
That’s all for now! I’m so proud of this book. I feel a little like I bled for it. I’ve had to claw for this book in a way that I haven’t had to with some of the others. I’ve wanted to drop tropes and information for MONTHS, but I ultimately didn’t want to ruin the reader experience or spoil a thing. So please, read it so we can all discuss! I do have a spoiler squad on Facebook so we can chat, if any of you need that. Click here for that ➡️ Tricia Wentworth's Spoiler Squad.
So grab a drink of choice and celebrate with me this weekend. Enchanted Shadows is here. OWEN is here. I hope your drink is extra refreshing and you enjoy reading it!
Much love to you all.
